Thieves steal guitars worth thousands

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Authorities are investigating a grand theft at the Guitar Center located at 4440 Fowler Street.

Police say two men entered the business and proceeded to walk out of the front door each carrying expensive bass guitars they did not pay for. The unknown suspects fled into the parking lot but were captured on video surveillance.

The Fender and Gibson guitars that were stolen are valued over $2,000.

Officials say the theft happened on November 26, but was discovered a few weeks later during an audit. Police are asking the public to view the attached video surveillance depicting the crime.

“We are hoping someone will recognize these guitar zeros and give us a call,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant Victor Medico.
