Fort Myers, Fla. — The Fort Myers Miracle officially introduced new manager Jeff Smith Monday afternoon at the Twins’ Minor League Player Development Facility.

“This feels good,” said Smith. “Putting on this jersey feels very, very good.”

Smith graduated from Naples and has a home there with his wife, Ronna, and two sons.

“Naples is my home, ” said Smith. “I have a very strong spot in my heart for Southwest Florida.”

Smith returns to Southwest Florida after managing the Twins AA Affiliate, the New Britain Rock Cats, for the past five years. He was the manager of the Miracle in 2008 and 2009.

“When I found out I’d get to come back to Southwest Florida and manage the Miracle this year, I think it was as excited as I have been in a long time,” said Smith.
