Dog missing after Port Charlotte house burglary

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County authorities say a woman came home last week to find that her home had been broken into and, not only was her television gone, but so was her Teacup Yorkshire Terrier.

The victim reported when she arrived at her Blalock Street home early Thursday evening, she immediately noticed that her dog was not barking for her as she usually does.

The woman found her front door closed, but unlocked.  When she searched her house for her dog “Gracie Rapunzel,” she found that an old doggie door that had been boarded over was no longer secure.  The woman also discovered that her flat screen Toshiba TV was missing.

Gracie is described as being an ‘inside’ dog who never leaves the house.  She weighs about three pounds and is black, brown and gray in color.  She was recently shaved.  Gracie doesn’t have a collar but she is micro-chipped.

Anyone with information about the burglary or the location of Gracie Rapunzel is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101 (ask for District Detectives), or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
