FORT MYERS, Fla.- WINK News takes you to a place where people are disconnecting, to get reconnected.

We’re are talking about the latest rage, mixing crafts with cocktails.

These days we are all so connected to our computers and our phones, we rarely are without them.

Whether dating, married, or on a night out with friends, at Painting with A Twist, the room is full of amateur artists letting their inhibitions free and their brushes fly.

“It gives everyone an opportunity to disconnect from their cell phones, computers, and to actually spend time together and talking,” said manager Jennifer Giubardo.

Painting studios are gaining popularity, allowing adults to unleash their inner child and get creative.

Mark and Claudia Polzer have been married 20 years but are first time painters.

“I just thought it would be a fun thing to do. You know, something different than going to dinner, or a show… so far so good!” said Claudio Polzer.

The music is pumping as artists give step-by-step instructions and crafters enjoy cocktails at this BYOB studio that has few rules and one promise..

“Number one rule,  everyone leaves with a picture they are happy with.”
