FORT MYERS, Fla- A Fort Myers woman got a ‘cool’ surprise! Judy Stewart hasn’t had working air conditioning in her home for two years but on Tuesday Builders Care partners and volunteers showed up to install one for free. Stewart suffered a stroke a few years ago, has beat cancer twice and her husband of over 40 years recently passed away. Her family says it’s been a tough few years and not having AC has also take a toll on her health. “I see you all coming down the street and I say what’s that and I didn’t know it was for me. But it was a nice surprise and I thank God for you all,” said Stewart. Organizers say they rarely can do AC units because of the high cost but today was a special exception. Dr. Kool Air Conditiong, Tropic Supply and Ruud all donated parts and labor for the project.
