MGN Online WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) – A South Florida man has been convicted of killing and dismembering his landlord. A Palm Beach County jury found 51-year-old Scott Tobiassen guilty of first-degree murder Monday. The Palm Beach Post (http://goo.gl/Nv5qka ) reports that he faces life in prison. Tobiassen didn’t deny bludgeoning Gerard Longo to death in 2013 at the Greenacres house where they both lived, but a public defender argued for a manslaughter conviction, which would have meant a maximum sentence of 15 years. But prosecutors said Tobiassen wanted to teach Longo a lesson. They say Tobiassen was upset because he had lost his job as a crane operator, and Longo wouldn’t give him time to get back on his feet.
