Man arrested for Fort Myers Beach library killing

Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in a homicide investigation at the Fort Myers Beach Public Library.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Adam Soules, 36, in a homicide investigation.

According to LCSO, deputies arrived at the scene and discovered a man who had died from stab wounds.

Library coworkers and friends told WINK News the victim was Dr. Leroy C. Hommerding, who was opening the library for a book sale event that was being held Saturday and Sunday.

“They say no one is irreplaceable, but I don’t think he is replaceable,” said Sallie Seabury, president of the board of directors for FMB Public Library, regarding Hommerding.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno addressed the public at the Fort Myers Beach Public Library Sunday morning.

LCSO has not officially identified Hommerding as the victim.
