Thursday’s Coronavirus Updates: 120 new deaths, 8,935 new cases reported in Florida

As of 11 a.m. Thursday, there have been 232,718 positive cases of the coronavirus recorded in the state. The case count includes 229,367 Florida residents and 3,351 non-Florida residents. There are 4,009 Florida resident deaths reported, 102 non-resident deaths and 17,167 hospitalizations, according to the Florida Department of Health.

There have been 2,359,636 tests administered in Florida. A total of 232,718 tests have come back positive, and 2,124,680 tests have come back negative. The remainder are still pending or inconclusive, according to the FDOH website.

Total number of recorded cases: 232,718 (up from 223,783)
Florida resident deaths: 4,009 (up from 3,889)
Non-resident deaths: 102 (unchanged)

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA NUMBERS

Total recorded cases in SWFL: 17,044 (up from 16,625)
Deaths: 377 (up from 371)

  • 6 new deaths reported Thursday

Lee County: 8,340 (up from 8,125) – 176 deaths (5 new)
Collier County: 5,577 (up from 5,433) – 85 deaths
Charlotte County: 1,004 (up from 974) – 77 deaths
DeSoto County: 799 (up from 775) – 11 deaths (1 new)
Glades County: 189 (unchanged) – 1 death
Hendry County: 1,135 (up from 1,129) – 27 deaths

In the past 24 hours, SWFL reported the results of 1,174 tests, 419 of which were positive.
That’s 35.69% positive today, bringing the seven-day average to 24.45%.
