Police: Cape Coral man stabbed someone after argument over pet

A Cape Coral man was arrested Sunday, accused of stabbing someone after an argument over the family pet.

It happened around 7 a.m. at a home in the 5300 block of Nautilus Drive.

Police said that when they arrived, they found Caleb McKinley Smith and the victim with injuries. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said the victim is in stable condition.

Smith faces a charge of aggravated battery for the stabbing, police said. He is being held on a $500 bond at the Lee County Jail.
