FMPD investigates shots fired

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Authorities are investigating reports of shots fired near the intersection of Jackson Street and Willard Street.

Police received the call around 11 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered several spent ammunition casings in the roadway on Willard Street along with two vehicles in the parking lot of 2250 Edison Avenue that sustained damage from the shots fired.

According to detectives, a dark colored vehicle traveling eastbound on Willard Street stopped in the roadway and unknown suspects began firing into the parking lot. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene east toward Fowler Street.

Police say no one was injured.
