FMPD investigates homicide near Edison Mall

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating an apparent shooting death near the Edison Mall.

Around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, FMPD responded to a call of a man down on the sidewalk in front of the 3700 block of Broadway Avenue. The man was pronounced dead on the scene, and police cordoned off the crime scene.

Detectives and crime scene technicians are working to identify the victim and looking for potential witnesses.

The police department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provided information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person responsible for any homicide in the City of Fort Myers. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
