MIAMI (AP) – Police say two marked patrol cars were likely deliberately set on fire in the driveway of a home in Miami-Dade County.

One of the cars set on fire early Friday belonged to Miami-Dade police. The other was a police cruiser from Hallandale Beach in nearby Broward County.

Officers say the fire caused significant damage to the cars. Miami-Dade police are investigating.

The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1Cc0R52 ) reports this brings to four incidents of police cruisers being vandalized this year. In January and February, two unmanned police cars were sprayed with bullets.

At the time police didn’t think the incidents were related but expressed concern over the brazen acts.
