TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – Police arrested seven juveniles after a disturbance broke out at a detention center in Tampa.
Authorities say some 25 teens were involved in the Sunday night disturbance at Le Peters Juvenile Corrections Academy. The arrested teens face a felony and misdemeanor charges.
About 15 Tampa police officers helped secure the center and make the arrests.
One corrections officer was attacked but not seriously injured. None of the juveniles were injured.
Police say there was less than $1,000 in damages to the facility.
