ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – For the first time, Orlando International Airport is offering daily, nonstop service to the Middle East.

OIA officials announced Tuesday that starting Sept. 1, it would partner with Emirates airline to begin offering flights between Orlando and Dubai.

It is the 10th U.S. destination offered by Emirates, which services to 145 destinations in 80 countries. Emirates becomes the latest international airline to launch service to OIA, adding to worldwide traffic that the airport said grew 9.6 percent in 2014 and represented 12 percent of its total traffic activity.

With 35 million annual passengers, OIA is the second-busiest airport in Florida and 14th-busiest in the U.S.

Emirates said seats on the 15-hour flights would range from $990 for economy seats to $9,990 for first-class.
