NORTH PORT, Fla.- A family is trying to find out who shot their 8-month-old puppy.

The Jack Russell mix was shot and left for dead in a neighborhood after the owner says her dogs got out.

The puppy was treated in Port Charlotte emergency clinic but veterinarians could not remove the bullet.

The dog was transferred to a specialty care center in Sarasota. At this point, vets aren’t sure if the puppy will live.

If you have any information on who’s responsible, contact the North Port Police Department at 941-429-7300.
