Deputies: Girl, 12, injured in drive-by shooting

PLANT CITY, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say 12-year-old girl was injured in an apparent drive-by shooting near Tampa.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday in Plant City. The girl’s wounds were not thought to be life-threatening.

The child was taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment.

Deputies say multiple shots were fired into the home. No one else was injured. The girl lives with her parents and 15-year-old brother.
