JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – A Jacksonville man is accused of killing of his grandmother.

Police on Thursday said evidence suggests that 22-year-old David Deron Jefferson killed his 69-year-old grandmother last week and left her body in a trash bin.

Police were still searching for the body of Marguerite Lee-Jefferson but believed it may have been taken to the Trail Ridge Landfill.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1JhQq3A ) reports that Lee-Jefferson was a Hurricane Katrina transplant who neighbors said doted on her grandchildren.

Police say they are not clear on a motive. Jefferson is charged with murder and fraudulent use of his grandmother’s debit card.

Lee-Jefferson was reported missing by her daughter after the family said they hadn’t heard from her since April 16.
