COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A babysitter who plead guilty to beating and shaking an infant in 2010 will not have her sentenced reduced.

Cherie Landowski is currently serving 10 years in prison for abusing Quentin Maulsby when he was just 5 months old. He was diagnosed with autism following the beating.

In 2013, Landowski decided to take a plea deal in this case. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by 20 years probation.

Last May, Landowski’s attorney filed a motion for post conviction relief after finding an article about Maulsby’s younger brother also having autism.

In March, she argued in court that she should serve less time because of that but the judge recently disagreed and denied her request.

Landowski has 30 days to appeal the decision.
