Community mourns Estero High’s Jeff Sommer

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Family, friends and former student athletes will gather to say their last goodbyes to beloved Estero High School Coach Jeff Sommer Saturday morning.

His funeral is being held at the high school auditorium on River Ranch Road at 11 a.m.

Sommer died Saturday May 2nd in Jacksonville shortly after his team won a state title during a track meet. Sommer was a coach in Lee County for 38 years.

On Wednesday May 13, Fit to Run is hosting the flashlight walk and run in his honor.
