LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A proposed rehab center in south Fort Myers has been given another green light to move forward.

The facility would be located on Winkler Road, within a couple miles of Canterbury School and Florida SouthWestern State College.

The vote gets the center one step closer to a final decision.

Lee County Hearing Examiners Office just approved the facility which would feature 90 beds.

The center has sparked anger with residents in the neighborhood who say they don’t want a drug rehab facility next door.

The proposal will now go to commissioners for final approval.
