WARNER SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) – Authorities in San Diego County, California have found a couple that has been missing since May 10 while driving to their son’s home near Palm Springs.

Authorities say 79-year-old Cecil Knutson was found dead.

His 68-year-old wife Dianna Bedwell was found dehydrated but still alive in a remote area on an Indian reservation near Warner Springs.

The couple was last seen leaving a casino in Valley Center. Bedwell told authorities they were looking for a shortcut when they got lost and stuck on a rugged road.

Officials say both of them apparently were diabetic, and it’s a miracle Bedwell was still alive.
