JACSKONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – A 16-year-old boy is being charged as an adult with two counts of second-degree attempted murder for shooting into a Jacksonville school bus and injuring two girls.
Edgar Robles also faces several lesser charges and could face a possible life sentence if convicted.
Police say Robles fired his gun into the school bus on May 14 after someone on the bus spit on him. Robles and some friends were apparently at the bus stop to fight another group of boys.
The two girls struck by the bullets survived.
The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1Fklnyb ) reports that police believe Robles was the only shooter, and that two of his friends are cooperating.
Robles was arrested in Liberty County, Georgia, on May 2.
