Suspect may have alibi in Faust murder case

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Brand new never before seen footage obtained by WINK News shows the moments just before 5-year-old Andrew Faust Jr. is killed.

The video, taken from security cameras at Sam’s Food Market on Ford Street in Dunbar, shows police cars and people rushing to the neighborhood after the fatal shots were fired on October 13, 2014.

WINK News also obtained brand new documents containing recent interviews between attorneys and witnesses of the shooting, as well as family members of the suspected killers.

One of the witnesses tells investigators he was sitting outside when he heard gunshots, and described seeing a red colored truck or SUV with two masked men inside drive off.

In the surveillance video you can see a vehicle matching that description drive past the convenience store, stop, reverse, then drive off again. About a minute and a half later a Fort Myers police officer speeds by.

Terrance Irons, 31, and Thomas Edison, 34, were arrested two weeks after the shooting. They were released last month after a key witness changed her story.

An alibi for one of the suspects is also revealed in the documents. In a deposition, Edison’s daughter tells investigators that Edison was home during the time of the shooting, sleeping on the couch.

“Did he sleep the whole time?” one of the investigators asked.

“The whole time. He was sick… he was sick and sneezing and stuff,” she answered.

“Did your father ever leave the house that night?”

“No, sir.”

The documents also contain two hand-written letters to the State Attorney’s Office, written by witnesses who claim Edison and Irons are innocent.

One of them is from Andrew’s older half brother, who says he believes a gang of teenagers was behind the shooting and that they were targeting Andrew’s other brother.
