Jordin Sparks scheduled to perform at new teen party in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla.- It’s round two for a teen party at Sun Splash Family Waterpark. But this time, the City of Cape Coral is heading up the event.

A local DJ hosted a party at the park back in March. That one got out of hand, with reports of sex and underage drinking.

On June 12,  Sun Splash is hosting another teen-only event.

“We all learned a little bit after the last event that happened here,” said Todd King, the city’s special events coordinator. “The one thing that we learned was that it’s a better idea for us to be in charge and to have these kinds of activities for our teenagers inside of Cape Coral.”

The city is taking this event one step at a time. They partnered with iHeartRadio which booked Jordin Sparks to sing at the event.

“I like her,” said Omar Ulloa, a high schooler who went to Sun Splash’s last teen event. “I like her music too. She has good music.”

The party in June is only for high schoolers, ages 14-19. They have to show a school ID. There will also be extra security and bag checks at the door.

Tickets are $20. The concert runs from 5 p.m.- 10 p.m. Jordin Sparks is set to sing around 9 p.m.
