FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper says a 38-year-old deputy has been fired and will face drug trafficking charges.

Stuart James Raulerson was charged Tuesday with conspiracy to engage in trafficking hydrocodone and sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church or school.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1I14VUf ) reports investigators learned Raulerson was selling prescription drugs and the investigation is continuing.

Records show Raulerson was released from jail Tuesday night. It’s not know whether he has hired an attorney.
