Immokalee mother under arrest after 5 kids found playing in street

IMMOKALEE, Fla.- A mother is under arrest after five children were found playing in the street alone and living in filth.

Monday, a deputy found the children playing in the street near their home. Authorities paid a visit to the house and found no adults present. Inside the house, officials found trash, dirty diapers and old food on the flo

or. Reports say there was also no edible food in the refrigerator, and the children claimed they slept on a couch in the living room with no cushions. As deputies went into the bedrooms, they found air conditioning working in only one room. Marijuana was also found in the home.

The Department of Children and Families is investigating while the children stay with another family member. The mother is out of jail on a pre-trial release.
