FORT MYERS, Fla. – Healthy Harvest Farms and the Department of Health teamed up Saturday morning for a 5K race to promote a healthy lifestyle. The Department of Health teamed up with the farm to also promote healthy eating, on top of staying active. Runners were invited to head back to the farm after the race and begin to plant produce and work the field, just off of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Fort Myers. Every county across the state is holding a similar event, says Diane Holm, with the Florida Department of Health Lee County. This is the first time an event like this has been put together. The farm hopes to team up with the department of health every year, to make this an annual event.
