FORT MYERS, Fla.-A Lee County Sheriff’s sergeant has resigned after bizarre, off-duty incident at a stranger’s home in Lehigh Acres.

According to and Internal Affairs report, a sergeant – whose job it is to train other Lee County Sheriff’s deputies – drove to a couples home apparently while intoxicated and slurring his words – and threatened to kill the homeowner.

It happened back on August 24 at a home on Barbara Court in Lehigh Acres. The homeowner said a man showed up outside his home and told him that his home belonged to someone else and that he and his wife were in danger.

He said the man started shouting at him. It turns out that man is a Lee County Sheriff’s sergeant named Anthony Milillo. The homeowner said Milillo told him, “he was a 17 year law enforcement officer”. He then asked the homeowner, “what he would do if someone put a gun to his head”.

The homeowner then said Milillo then threatened him and said, “he was going to kill my wife and kids”.

The homeowner said the next thing that happened was Milillo started to chase him around his front yard. He then said, “I called for my wife to call 911. Milillo continued shouting and asking ‘what would you do’? He acted as if it were a training scenario.”

The homeowner had a concealed gun and drew it, and then said, “I was in fear but my senses told me that he thought that this was a training scenario.”

When a responding deputy from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office showed up he said, “Milillo was not making sense, slurred his speech, and did not appear to be of sound mind”.

WINK News has asked for comment from the sheriff’s office but have not gotten that yet.
