CLEWISTON, Fla.- Clewiston High School students are coming together Friday to raise money in honor of one of their own.

Clewiston High School grad Tyrell Taylor was shot and killed at ZombiCon over the weekend.

The FFA and Criminal Justice groups at the school came together to sell burgers to the community. They sold tickets all week-long for the lunch, and cooked up 800 burgers.

All of the supplies were donated. The money will go to support Taylor’s family. Food plates were sold for $5-$6.

One of Taylor’s former teachers says he wanted to be a police officer, if he didn’t become a pro football player.

“He did not allow anything to stop him and he was very quick to share with others, that they could overcome also,” said Kristine Petersen. “He would come in that classroom and have that big, glorious smile on his face every day.”

She says Taylor will be greatly missed.
