CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say a boat propeller cut off a man’s legs below the knees after he fell into the water at Port Canaveral.
Fire rescue officials tell Florida Today (http://on.flatoday.com/1SinDNE ) that the man fell from a barge Tuesday night and was injured underwater by a spinning propeller that caused a “bi-lateral double amputation below the knee.”
The man was taken to a hospital. Brendan McMillin of the Canaveral Pilots Association says the man’s co-workers helped rescue him.
The Coast Guard also is investigating.
