American Sand Sculpting Championships take shape

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – For the 29th year, the American Sand Sculpting Championships have set up on Fort Myers Beach at the Wyndham Garden Hotel.

Sculptors from across the country and globe have arrived in Southwest Florida to compete and show off their talent in the nine day event. From Nov. 20- Nov. 29 you can view master sand sculptors as they work with more than 1,000 tons of sand at one of the 10 best sand sculpting shows in the world.

Sculptures take shape throughout the event, when it’s all said and done, 40 sculptures will be finished and ready for viewing. Over the nine days, the public can view finished works of art as well as see new sculptures taking shape. Live music, along with food from the world famous Pinchers and Texas Tony’s will also be on hand, as well as sand sculpting activities for the whole family.

You can even have your Christmas card photo taken with your name engraved into the sand. Tickets for single day entry are $5 and children under four are free, other ticket options and pricing are available by clicking here, along with a full event schedule.
