BUNNELL, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say a central Florida man died in a house fire, but his two children were able to get outside and run for help.
The fire happened Saturday night in Bunnell.
Flagler County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Troiano told the Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1lUCjs5 ) says the children told a neighbor the house was burning and they couldn’t wake their father. The neighbor called 911 and then went to help but couldn’t go inside because of the fire.
Troiano says firefighters from three agencies battled the fire for several hours. One firefighter suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The name of the man was not released.
The fire marshal and sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate.
