Press release from the Franklin Templeton Shootout:

Tournament officials announced today that four sports and television celebrities, including 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, will compete in the Pro-Am of the Franklin Templeton Shootout scheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday at Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.

FOX’s Joe Buck, ESPN’s Chris Berman and FOX News Channel’s Bret Baier are also scheduled to participate in the two-day pro-am competition.

Tebow, the celebrated quarterback who guided the University of Florida to a national championship in 2008, will be making his first appearance at the Franklin Templeton Shootout. Tebow was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2010 and played several years in the NFL. Currently, he is a football analyst for the SEC Network.

Buck, an Emmy Award winning sportscaster, returns for his second year and will play in the Pro-Am prior to his Saturday announcing duties on FOX broadcast network for the tournament’s final round. Last year, he played alongside tournament host and FOX’s lead golf analyst Greg Norman, who will not compete in this year’s event due to his recent shoulder surgery.

Berman, the award-winning commentator and host for ESPN is a part-time resident of Southwest Florida. For the past 12 years Berman has made it a point to help the tournament in its quest to raise awareness for children’s cancer. Berman was a member of the winning amateur team in both 2006 and 2008.

Baier will also be making his Pro-Am debut prior to hosting an evening pro-am function. He currently hosts Special Report with Bret Baier on FOX News Channel and recently moderated FOX’s Republican Presidential Debate. He also serves as the network’s chief political anchor.

Pro-Am daily grounds tickets are $25 if purchased by this Sunday by calling 239.254.9770, visiting FranklinTempletonShootout.com or stopping by the PGA TOUR Superstore in Naples or Greg Norman Collection Outlet in Estero.  Ticket prices increase by $5 on Monday, December 7th.

The Franklin Templeton Shootout is the longest-running PGA TOUR-sanctioned post-season event and, throughout its history, the tournament has included many of golf’s greatest players. The Shootout will once again feature a different format during each of the three competitive rounds: Scramble (Thursday), Modified Alternate Shot (Friday) and Better Ball (Saturday).
