Orange County has 3rd biggest arts and recreation industry

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – New Census data shows that Orange County, Florida had the third-biggest arts, entertainment and recreation industry by revenue of any U.S. county, trailing only Los Angeles and New York counties.

The U.S. Census Bureau data released Tuesday shows that the arts, entertainment and recreation industry in Orange County, Florida had $4.9 billion in receipts in 2012, the most recent year tracked.

Los Angeles County was in the top spot with more than $17 billion in receipts. New York County, better known as Manhattan, was No. 2 with $12 billion in receipts.

Orange County, Florida is home to three major theme park resorts: Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld.

Rounding out the top spots in revenue were Orange County, California and Cook County, Illinois, home to Chicago.
