Gator causes Naples crash, one hurt

NAPLES, Fla. – A seven-foot alligator caused a car crash Saturday afternoon.

Collier County deputies say it happened on Collier Boulevard near the intersection of the The Lords Way.

A Ford sedan had stopped to avoid hitting the gator, when a truck hit the car from behind. The truck landed in the woods nearby. The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials also responded to the scene to help the injured gator and remove it from the area.
