Chanel chooses Naples hair colorist for Cuba fashion show

NAPLES, Fla. – This May, fashion enthusiasts won’t solely be paying attention to the clothes in Chanel’s fashion show, but the backdrop; that’s because, for the first time, it’s in Havana, Cuba.

One hair colorist from Naples will travel there with the crew.

“It will be a great honor to work for Chanel Haute Couture,” Denis Juarez told WINK News.

Chanel chose Juarez to do all the models’ hair color for this one-of-a-kind event.

“It will be exciting, nervous, a lot of work, but the whole experience I think is going to be just amazing,” he said, “I can’t wait!”

Juarez has been in the business for almost two decades.

“I tell you what I think about him,” his client, Maria Hess said, “I wouldn’t change. I would follow him wherever he goes.”

His clients say he has the eye and talent to make a person feel like a million bucks through hair coloring.

“I think it’s great! I think they couldn’t have chosen a better person,” Hess said.

Juarez said he’s going to Cuba in March to plan for the show, which will hit the runway in May.

“I think we’re just going to have to do what we do best and pull it together very quickly,” his coworker, Teresa Poeling said, “and do it right so that it goes out on the runway perfectly.”

It’s the first major fashion show in Havana since diplomatic relationships with the United States have improved.

Hess told Juarez, “you get to see Cuba, I mean, Cuba used to be the playground of the American elites.”

On top of that, Juarez gets to showcase his work as a representative of the elite in the fashion industry.

Juarez said, “I’ve been doing hair for a long time I mean why not me?”
