NFM Wal-Mart, Bealls targeted in thefts

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- Authorities are looking for the suspect(s) who stole hundreds of dollars in merchandise from multiple stores in North Fort Myers last week.

The first theft took place on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at the Wal-Mart located at 545 Pine Island Road. Shortly after 8 p.m., a man entered the store through the Garden Center, picked out a Samsung model HW-JM45 soundbar worth $228, and two kitchen knife sets, valued at $69 each, which he placed into his cart before walking out of the store without paying.

Less than an hour later, a second theft occurred at the Bealls store on 3071 Pine Island Road. The suspect in the theft entered and exited the store twice, taking seven pairs of Nike sneakers and one pair of Nike slides, totaling nearly $500.

Officials cannot confirm if the same person was involved in both thefts, but witnesses say the suspect(s) each left in a Nastar Roofing truck.
