Fire leaves North Naples family of 11 facing homelessness

NORTH NAPLES, Fla.- A family of 11 is facing homelessness after their Naples Park rental home caught fire on Monday.

Kerren Laitaille passed out when she saw her home on fire and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. She says her family lost nearly everything in the fire and what was left behind had smoke damage. For the next three days her children’s football coach has lent them a home thanks in part to one of his family members.

The fire department says it was a candle left in one of the bedrooms that started the fire. No one was inside the home when it caught fire.

On Friday, Laitaille and all of her children will be without a place to stay. The family has setup a Go Fund Me account for donations.
