Fort Myers man charged in 2 separate shooting incidents

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A 21-year-old man was charged Wednesday with two shooting incidents, including one involving a Fort Myers police officer.

Quan Wilsher, 21, of Fort Myers, is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Wilsher remained in the Lee County jail Wednesday under bond. He is scheduled to make a court appearance on Thursday.

Wilsher is accused of shooting a groundskeeper, and narrowly missing Fort Myers police officer Jeremy Hawkins, who was standing next to him, at City of Palms Park on Nov. 10.

Detectives also connected him to an Oct. 13 shooting incident in downtown Fort Myers. Wilsher is accused of shooting at a man outside the Cigar Bar on Hendry Street after the victim followed two men who climbed on his truck.

Wilsher was already in custody after leading police on a foot pursuit through downtown Fort Myers on Nov. 12. He was then charged with two counts of possessing a firearm by a Florida delinquent, possession of a concealed firearm, altering the identification of a firearm and resisting an officer without violence.
