Deputies investigating Fort Myers robbery

 

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lee County deputies said they are investigating a robbery off McGregor Boulevard.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office said suspects assaulted an elderly man and robbed him of his vehicle. Deputies were at the scene around 6 p.m. Thursday just south of A & W Bulb Road.

Neighbors said the incident was a car robbery on a dead end road and that the victim was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Deputies said the man’s injuries were minor and he is expected to be OK.

According to neighbors, two suspects trailed an elderly couple and tried to take their van. Police said the vehicle was recovered.
