FORT MYERS, Fla.- A registered convicted felon has been identified as a suspect in a Circle K robbery and an attempted robbery of a Regions Bank in Lee County. Robert Percoski, 37, was already behind bars at the Lee County jail facing charges for selling heroin, cocaine possession, and grand theft, when authorities linked him to the other crimes. On Tuesday, deputies charged Percoski with the robbery of a Circle K on Nov. 29, as well as the attempted robbery of the Regions Bank, located at 13520 N. Cleveland Avenue on Dec. 10. During the attempted bank robbery, authorities say a bank employee standing outside the building noticed a man wearing a black hoodie and a grey mask approaching the front of the building. The alert employee ran to the bank’s drive-through window and told co-workers to lock the doors. When the suspect was unable to gain entry into the bank, he fled in a white vehicle, authorities said. Percoski has been booked into the Lee County jail 16 times before for crimes including burglary, theft, battery, DUI, hit and run, grand theft auto and drug possession.
