FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Fifth Third Bank Broadway series continues at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall, this time with one of the most tap heavy shows on Broadway.

“42nd Street” has danced right into Fort Myers as more than 30 actors tell the story of a Broadway musical coming to life in 1930s New York City. Actors in the show like Georgina Moore, describe “42nd Street” as one of the most vibrant and active performances.

“It’s a very energetic show lots of crazy costumes and sets, it’s a really exciting production to be a part of,” said Moore. That excitement doesn’t just include world class tap dancing but one of the most colorful costumes collections on Broadway, with more than 400 pieces.

Wardrobe Supervisor, Meredith Scott has worked on numerous Broadway productions but describes “42nd Street” as one of the most exciting, not only for the audience but the cast and crew as well. “This show kind of has a reputation for being big and scary, because everything is so fast, at one point there are 31 people quick changing in the wings,” said Scott.

The National Tour of 42nd Street heads to Georgia after leaving the sunshine state but is playing at the Barbara B. Mann through Sunday, for tickets and show times, click here. The Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall is located at 13350 FSW Parkway, on the campus of Florida Southwestern State College in Fort Myers.
