State health officials say an additional seven cases of Zika have been reported in Florida including: Hillsborough County: 2 Miami-Dade County: 4 Santa Rosa County: 1 Those affected traveled to a country or area experiencing the Zika virus such as Colombia, El Salvador, Haiti, and Venezuela, health officials said. On Monday, the World Health Organization declared a global emergency over the spread of the Zika virus, which has been linked to birth defects in the Americas. The virus, which is spread to people through mosquito bites, can cause fever, rash, joint pain, and red eyes.
