FORT MYERS, Fla. – A 38-year-old Port Charlotte man received 15 years in federal prison, followed by a life term of supervision, after being convicted of distributing child pornography.

An FBI agent was able to download hundreds of child pornography files from Daniel Edward Palmer’s computer, federal prosecutors said.

“During the execution of a federal search warrant at Palmer’s residence, agents located Palmer in his bedroom with his computer running,” prosecutors said in a statement. “He admitted to the agents that he was the only person in the home who had used the computer.”

Palmer pleaded guilty in Sept. 2015.
