Matt Buchanan/ MGN FORT MYERS, Fla. – A hacking software successfully targeted Apple computers for the first time, company researchers said. The software is called ransomeware because hackers use it to hijack a computer, locking out its user until a ransom is paid. Apple said it has taken steps to protect its users and responded by updating its antivirus software. Apple users should immediately perform a security check in their computer’s activity monitors, Apple researchers said.
