MGN Online FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Fort Myers man died Thursday after sustaining critical injuries in a motorcycle crash from over the weekend, deputies said. Martin Brantely, 61, lost control of his motorcycle in a single-vehicle crash on Pine Island Road near Cleveland Avenue, Lee County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash sent him flying and he landed on his head, causing critical injuries, deputies said. Brantley was wearing a helmet but deputies said alcohol played a role in the crash. The crash happened before 2:30 a.m. on March 6. Brantley died three days later, a little more than a month before his 62nd birthday.
