FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) – A fourth South Florida man has been sentenced to prison for his role in an estimated $100 million federal income tax fraud scheme that prosecutors are calling one of the nation’s largest.

A Fort Lauderdale federal judge on Wednesday sentenced 25-year-old Andy Cherrelus to nearly eight years in prison on fraud, identity theft and other convictions. Three other men were sent to prison Tuesday and a fifth is set for sentencing Thursday.

The ring was based in a quiet suburban house in Miramar. Internal Revenue Service investigators say 10 laptop computers were used between July 2011 and May 2013 in an attempt to steal more than $108 million in fraudulent refunds using stolen identities.

Authorities say one defendant created a rap label called GroundUp111 as a cover for the crimes.
