Search for missing Fort Myers woman expands

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Surveillance video from a Lehigh Acres 7-Eleven is being reviewed for clues into the disappearance of a Fort Myers mother.

Alberta Harris, 50, was last seen twelve days ago. Desperate for answers, her family is hanging up signs outside storefronts from Lehigh Acres all the way to Gainsville.

“A lot of unanswered questions,” said Ebony Freeman, Harris’ daughter. “As a family, we’re trying to keep it together.”

The family will be searching an area near the 7-Eleven on Saturday.

“Trying to see if anyone ever recognized my mom in the area,” Freeman said. “We are definitely going to find her. We aren’t going to stop.”

Police have received 13 tips in the past few days regarding Harris’ disappearance, but will not release any new information because it’s an active investigation.

The search party will meet at the park across the street from the 7-Eleven on Joel Boulevard in Lehigh Acres Saturday at 3 p.m.

If you have any information on Harris’ disappearance, contact the Fort Myers Police Department at 239-321-7700.
