The NFL Draft kicks off tonight with the first round starting at 8:00 ET.

In 2014, South Fort Myers alum Sammy Watkins was drafted in the first round. Tonight, Immokalee alum and fellow Clemson Tiger Mackensie Alexander could do the same.

Alexander, a cornerback, is projected to go anywhere from the first through third round. Several NFL teams have needs at cornerback, including the Tampa Bay Bucs (9th pick overall) and Miami Dolphins (13th overall).

Another Clemson product, former South Fort Myers star Jayron Kearse could go in the later rounds. NFL.com has the 6’4″ safety projected as a fifth round selection.

Minnesota linebacker and Cypress Lake alum De’Vondre Campbell has upped his stock after showcasing NFL-caliber athleticism by running a blistering 4.58 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Campbell is expected to go in the fifth round.

The second and third rounds of the draft start on Friday, while the fourth through seventh rounds kick off at noon on Saturday.
