
FORT MYERS, Fla.- A 53-year-old man was killed in an early morning crash Friday on College Parkway and South Pointe Boulevard, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Authorities say Donald Powers of Cape Coral was traveling east on College Parkway around 4:40 a.m. when he suddenly veered right and struck a curb.
The motorcycle jumped the curb and went airborne, FHP said.
Powers and his motorcycle crashed through heavy shrubbery while hitting the ground, officials said. He was later pronounced dead on scene.
